2018 Florida Championship

2018 Florida Championship Tournament Information

The tournament prize fund will be based on 72 hole total using our usual stableford scoring system at 90% of USGA indexes adjusted for the course slope rating. Optional daily cash side bets will be $10 each bet each day for gross (sweep), net (sweep), gross skins, net skins, and fewest zero's. The side bets will be collected (cash only) prior to Friday's first round, and will be paid out following each day's competition.

The tournament prize fund and payout will be approximately as follows:

        Low Gross – $350 to top 5 finishers – winner will receive $ 140
        Net “A” Division - $ 900 to top 7 finishers – winner will receive $300
        Net “B” Division - $1,150 to top 8 finishers – winner will receive $300
Two closest to pin contests each day - $20 each
(The tournament prize fund payouts will be in B.A.G.S. tournament credits)

To win a Low Gross prize, you must play the “A” division tee selection, and finish out everyhole.Net players are required to pick up on a hole when net bogey can't be made.  The “A” Division field will consist of those with single digit handicap indexes plus those with handicap indexes of 10 – 15.0 that have opted to compete in the “A” division and play off the “B” Division tee selection.  Handicap adjustments (complying with USGA section 3-5, which governs net competitions played off multiple tees) will be applied for the difference in course rating so as to affect the fewest participants in each net contest.  The course yardages, course ratings, and slope ratings are as follows (all courses are par 72) :

          Championsgate - National: “A” – Blue 6,480 71.1/120  “B” – 5,979 67.9/116
          Orange Lake Legends – Both division – Blue – 6,263 70.3/124
          Hawk’s Landing – “A” – Black 6,602 72.1/136  “B”  - Green 6,165 69.5/130
          Reunion – Palmer: “A” - Gold  6,419 70.8/135  “B” – Blue 6,058 69.3/127

We are scheduled for 8:30 shotgun starts each day, except for Monday, which is scheduled for an 8:00 shotgun start.  Complimentary replays are included (on a space available basis) at Orange Lake and Hawk’s Landing.

We will play the ball as it lies; unless you are told otherwise prior to beginning play each day. Lost balls and balls hit out of bounds will be played as a lateral hazard (one stroke penalty). Anyone scoring 40 stableford points or more will have their handicap reduced by 1 stroke for the remaining rounds. All players must exchange cards with a playing partner. All scorecards must be signed, attested and turned in to Mike Gilmore or Jim Rooks immediately following conclusion of play. Competitors are only responsible for the correct gross score on each hole. The gross hole-by-hole scores will be input into our golf genius software, which calculates the net stableford points and the results of all side bets.

Practice round tee times, tournament round groupings, starting hole assignments, and results will be available on the golf genius portal sites, and may be accessed by going to the “2018 Florida tourney" info” page at www.bagsri.com.

We are hoping everyone has four great days of golf with weather to match.

    Jim Rooks & Mike Gilmore
