2011 BAGS Florida 72 Hole Championship

November 30 - December 5, 2011

Our Florida event is a terrific getaway just before winter sets in. Contested on four, superb championship courses. Condo's or the hotel is conveniently located close to all the tournament sites, Disney World and other area attractions. 8:00 AM shotgun starts each morning will allow sufficient time for afternoon replays at reduced rates. Daily high temperatures in Orlando in early December are usually in the mid to upper 70's.  Last year most of the Rhode Island contingent arrived in Orlando on Wednesday morning.

Crooked Cat at Orange County National –The tournament-playing conditions here at OCN are among the best  in Florida and clearly show why the PGA Tour has chosen this facility as host of the 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010 PGA Tour Q-School Finals. This masterpiece is the first course ever to feature 18 signature holes, incorporating rolling hills, including 60-ft. elevation changes, as it winds through natural oak hammocks, pine forests, scenic wetlands and glistening freshwater lakes.

Suggested Evening Activity >> we'll get together for a Rhode Island contingent group dinner.

Falcon's Fire Golf Club The second of the  Rees-Jones designed Championship courses in this tournament is recognized both regionally and nationally as one of the finest public golf courses in Orlando. Featuring classic architecture, this championship golf course is exquisitely maintained and boasts year-round playing conditions. Falcon's Fire offers a challenging yet playable course for a competitive tournament. The greens were resurfaced with TifEagle variety turf - an ultra dwarf Bermuda grass - providing golfers with faster, smoother putting conditions. Further refinements to the course include the reshaping of bunkers and overseeding, leaving the course in pristine condition for the season.

Harmony Golf Preserve- Always one of B.A.G.S.' favorite event sites in the Orlando area, this lovely course is Central Florida's only Johnny Miller signature course. It's designated as a "preserve" and is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, incorporating existing wetlands and wildlife. The result? A 4 1/2-star rating from Golf Digest as one of the best places to play in Florida.

Suggested Evening Activity >> Sunday Night Football - Pats Vs. Colts - we'll gather at a local sports bar to watch the game

Waldorf Astoria GC This Rees Jones-designed championship course, winds its way through a large wetland preserve. Holes are visually arresting from tee to green and require intelligent management of the game. Bunkers are carved to be reminiscent of the hazards designed on courses a century ago. Majestic stands of pine and cypress trees line the fairways. The style of this meticulous Orlando golf resort was dictated by the land's existing contours, which Jones then enhanced, always mindful of the natural elements and environmental issues. A must play
