2018 BAGS Florida 72 Hole Championship  

December 5 - December 10, 2018


Our Florida event is a terrific getaway just before winter sets in. Contested on four, superb championship courses. Condo's or the hotel is conveniently located close to all the tournament sites, Disney World and other area attractions. shotgun starts each morning will allow sufficient time for afternoon replays (either complimentary or at reduced rates). Daily high temperatures in Orlando in early December are usually in the mid to upper 70's.  Last year our tournament field was about 54 players, including 31 RI division members.  

We will have two divisions - players with handicap indexes of 10.0 or less will be assigned to the "A" Division, players with handicap indexes of 15.1 and higher will be assigned to the "B" Division, players with handicap indexes of 10.1 - 15.0 will be required to choose to participate in either the "A" or "B" division (at least a week) prior to the start of the tournament.  Tee selections for each course is listed below.

Friday, Dec 7 CHAMPIONSGATE NATIONAL 8:30 shotgun

The National Course at ChampionsGate is a classic American-style layout that rolls through 200 acres of Florida
southern woodlands and wetlands. The ChampionsGate National Course is one of two must-play, Greg Norman-designed golf courses at the magnificent ChampionsGate Golf Resort. In 2017 the course underwent significant
enhancements including a brand new set of Champion Bermunda greens and bunkering touch ups. The National Course
features shotmaking challenges that are defined by unique bunkering, tree-lined fairways and intriguing green designs. In particular, golfers are apt to remember The National for its testing par 3 holes and for the double green shared by holes 4 & 16.

Saturday, Dec 8 ORANGE LAKE - LEGENDS 8:30 shotgun

18 beautifully-designed holes of championship golf blend with a pristine landscape to create a truly memorable golf
experience. Designed by Arnold Palmer, this 7,072-yard championship course offers two distinct play experiences.
Scottish-style golf is featured on the front nine; while the towering pines, majestic oaks, winding fairways and
flowing water on the back nine are reminiscent of the Carolinas. 

Suggested evening Activity (7:00 PM -  ?? PM) will be our annual RI Division get together. Catered Dinner - DETAILS TO FOLLOW

Sunday, Dec 9 Hawk's Landing

Hawk's Landing Golf Club is 18 holes of championship golf at it's finest. Winding aesthetically around three sides
of the Marriott World Center, the golf course offers an exciting 18-hole layout and a scenic blend of native
Florida wildlife and tropical vegetation. Following the redesign by Robert Cupp Jr. of the original Joe Lee layout,
Hawk's Landing provides superb playing conditions. Following a multi year
rejuvenation, the course features large brand new Diamond Zoysia greens that are as good as it gets for smooth putting surfaces

The Reunion resort golf facility boasts three championship coures designed by Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Pamer, which are normally only available to members and those staying at the resort.  

Arnold Palmer’s Signature Course is both challenging and beautiful -  highlighted by expansive waste areas, strategically placed bunkers, and generously wide fairways. Innovatively routed on hilly, roller coaster-like terrain complemented by breathtaking natural preserve and extensive landscaping, the Palmer provides a varied menu of shot-making opportunities across all eighteen holes.

Entry fee includes:  five nights lodging in 2 - 7 bedroom condo - no shared bedrooms - four tournament rounds with cart and large B.A.G.S. prize fund.

Entry fee does not include: airfare, local transportation in Orlando (shared car rentals will be arranged), green fees for optional practice rounds, daily side bets, meals.

Entry fee:Approximately $ 630 (will vary depending on lodging selected). $200 deposit due on or before September 15, balance due on or before November 15. Entry fee for Golf only is $455
